as i have now explained to the several hundred people that have now since asked ME what sundown means, I will commence this blog by explaining to you..
it all started with falafel.
and not just any falafel. lenny kravitz's favorite. l'as du falafel in paris' hip and jewish marais district. and apparently it wasn't just lenny kravitz who loved it. so did a blonde, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed american study-abroad student characterized by her tendency for getting a little lost and consequently, a little in trouble. (but more on that later.) so with hopes of preventing a failed-falafel trip, this blonde, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed american study-abroad student went online to inquire as to the closing hours of l'as. once she arrived at its website, she was a little surprised to see that the hours listed were: "10am to sundown." SUNDOWN? but what does that even mean? the sun sets at a different time every day and what, am I supposed to figure that out using a sundial and shit just to get some goddamn falafel?? extremely unclear, right? and that's exactly what sundown is.
so sun.up.
